George and Pamela Meyer started One Came Down about one year after being born again while attending Calvary Chapel Orange County, where they were on the worship team under the direction of Pastor Jim Young. “We had both played in secular bands (Meatloaf, Bob Seger, Ian Hunter/Mick Ronson Band, and many more) for years, but the heart of worship captured us and we began writing songs to worship and glorify God.
When we were ready (i.e. enough songs were finished) we enlisted our son George George, an accomplished guitarist, and long time friends and bandmates David Meyers (South Side Johnny, Corky Laing, Blackberry Blues Band) on bass, and Jim Verdi ( The Funk Junkies, Little Sammy Davis and Midnight Slim, Blackberry Blues Band) on drums to help us record the CD: One Came Down …and with my song I will praise Him.
We continue to lead worship every Sunday at our home churches ,The Gathering @ Tri-State Family Christian Center, and The Upper Room Bible Fellowship (our in home church).
One Came Down is a mobile music ministry, leading worship in many other churches as well as performing at concerts, outreaches, conferences, workshops, nursing homes, and various other venues. One Came Down music is part of the CCLI/Song Select library and is a member of CSMI (Christian Songwriters and Musicians International).
It is our greatest desire that God would be glorified through the music He has given us. Also, our heartfelt prayer that the eyes of the lost would be opened to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that the saints would be edified and strengthened. Always holding close to our hearts the great commission to “go and make disciples of all the nations” (Matthew 28:19), we are so humbled and grateful to be used by God for His purpose.
